This intensive training provide evidence-based insight for those struggling with problem behaviors. With humor, grace, and researched neuroscience, ATTACh Executive Director Mary M. McGowan will help bring hope for healing to the children and youth in your care.
You’ll learn about adult and child attachment styles, arousal levels linked to survival mechanisms in the brain, behaviors associated with attachment difficulties and developmental trauma, and strategies for attachment-focused parenting and teaching.

Webinar: Honoring Sibling Relationships

The most frequently cited complaint by foster youth between the ages of 18-25 who have been interviewed from around the country about their foster-care experience is being separated from their siblings. Sue will articulate the importance of the sibling bond, describe tips and tools for social workers and other professionals when recruiting families for siblings, and discuss strategies for professionals and caretakers for keeping siblings together even in challenging situations.
Participants will be able to:

• Articulate at least 3 reasons why it’s important for siblings to be raised together and be part of one another’s permanency;
• Identify challenges to keeping siblings together; and
• Implement at least 2 strategies to help keep siblings together.
