Attachment-Focused Therapy: Post-Graduate Certificate Program

Become an expert in treating a critically underserved population with this intensive certification.

Deborah Gray (MSW, MPA, LICSW) has treated issues of attachment, loss, and trauma for 30 years. She enjoys training clinicians in approaches that are both hands-on and practical. She has authored numerous articles and books, including Attaching in Adoption, Nurturing Adoptions, and Attaching Through Love, Hugs, and Play.

Norman E. Thibault, PhD, LMFT is the current Vice-President, Clinical, of the Association for Training in Trauma and Attachment in Children. Winner of the 2017 American Adoption Congress Vilardi Humanitarian Award, Norm is the Founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Three Points Center, a residential treatment facility exclusive to adopted adolescents.  He is honored to co-present with Deborah Gray and in this training, Norm will address incorporating trauma and attachment-focused principles in the residential treatment setting.

Webinar: Honoring Sibling Relationships

The most frequently cited complaint by foster youth between the ages of 18-25 who have been interviewed from around the country about their foster-care experience is being separated from their siblings. Sue will articulate the importance of the sibling bond, describe tips and tools for social workers and other professionals when recruiting families for siblings, and discuss strategies for professionals and caretakers for keeping siblings together even in challenging situations.
Participants will be able to:

• Articulate at least 3 reasons why it’s important for siblings to be raised together and be part of one another’s permanency;
• Identify challenges to keeping siblings together; and
• Implement at least 2 strategies to help keep siblings together.

Assessing Complex Trauma: An evidence-based three-session model

Join us for a two-part in-depth, live webinar led by Arthur Becker-Weidman, PhD, director of the Center for Family Development in New York Practitioners will learn about a comprehensive yet concise three-session model to assess complex trauma. A broad range of domains may be affected by complex trauma. These webinars will enable practitioners to accurately assess the family, youth and parents, so that they can develop an appropriate and specific evidence-based comprehensive treatment plan

Participants will be able to:

              1. Describe the difference between a diagnosis and an assessment;
              2. Explain the value of a comprehensive assessment for their clients;
              3. Implement a comprehensive assessment into their practice and
              4. Identify which psychometric instruments would be most helpful to them in their client assessments.
